"Since I was in high school, I have always admired Japan's drive for research and development, most especially in the field of biotechnology. I have also been interested in the miscible mixture of traditional and modern culture of the Japanese society. To study in Japan means a lot to me as a Filipino, because not only can I receive proper mentoring on my field of interest but also a view of the current state of our nation from the 'outside'. With these, I am positive that someday I can be a catalyst of change for the Philippines."
